The vibrations loosen them and they shear off which ruins the air/fuel mixture.<br /> Also lucky you decided to do a "dry" run before the actual Iron Butt.<br /> You should really carry a ONE gallon gas container to keep you out of trouble. It would give you enough range to get to the next town.
